The Junior Am Golf Tournament was a great success, played on Saturday, April 4 at Roanoke Country Club. This is a tournament that helps fund College scholarships for junior golfers each year. It is made up of amateur golfers paired with the area’s best junior golfers. The format is divided into two separate tournaments. The teams play a Best 2 Balls of 4 net along with a junior player. Also, the juniors play out their own ball for a lowest score for the day competition.
In the team category, the group of David Todd, Michael Leigh, Rick Hall and (Junior) Landon Bolling, won with a team score of 118 (-24), seven shots better than the team of Brandon LaCroix, Jack Hamlin, Wyatt Silcox, (Junior) Andrew McAfee. Click here for full results!
In the Junior Medalist division, Cameron Sharp played well as players battled some afternoon wind to beat out a strong, large group of competitors with a score of 2 under par 69. Landon Bolling finished 2 shots back with a score of 71. Andrew McAfee and Harris Camp tied for 3rd place with a score of 75.
